# Boarding Your Dog With Us: How We Look After Them

October 2026

Night-time CCTV: belly-up asleep~

The short answer

- **A skin check on arrival** — and we tell you straight away if we find anything
- **Playtime in turns**, not everyone crowded together all day
- **Daily photos and videos**, plus CCTV you can open anytime

“If I leave my dog here and fly overseas, how will I know they're okay?” It's the question boarding owners ask us most — and the one we most want to put your mind at rest about. Here's exactly how we look after boarding dogs.

## When they first arrive

**A basic skin check**If we find anything, we check with you straight away — not when you come to pick them up.

**We ask about their routine at home**Meal times, bedtime, what scares them, what to avoid. We're not caring for “a dog” — we're caring for yours.

**No rush for first-timers**We let them get to know the place and us at their own pace. Lots of dogs settle in so fast it's like they're at home.

## A day here

Dogs come out to stretch and play in turns, which is also when we watch each one closely. If you've asked for anything special, we follow it. [See a day at Jiro Pet House →](/pet-hotel/#day)

## Why not let everyone out to play together?

It might sound less fun, but it's a deliberate choice.

For one, dogs don't know their own strength when they play, and it's easy for someone to get hurt.

The other reason is something we noticed after looking after so many dogs: many of them would much rather play with people, and aren't that interested in other dogs. For a dog like that, having other dogs coming up all day is actually stressful. They won't tell you — but you can see it.

We don't think free-for-all play is wrong. It just needs an experienced trainer watching the whole time. We've chosen the way we can do properly, so every dog is looked after — we'd rather see each dog clearly than have a busy-looking room.

## How you'll know they're okay while you're away

**Check in on CCTV anytime**We invite you to the Tapo app so you can see their room directly — whatever time zone you're in.

**Daily photos and videos**At least once a day, usually twice, without you having to ask: what they ate, what they played, how their mood is.

**If anything comes up, you hear first**A bit of red skin, a smaller appetite today — we won't wait until pick-up to tell you.

## We keep our rooms few, on purpose

We want every dog who stays here to be truly looked after and watched. Some arrive scared or nervous; we don't rush them, and let them lower their guard in their own time.

That's why spaces are limited — school holidays and the run-up to Chinese New Year always fill up first, so it's best to ask early.
